Special Extension for International Applicants

International applicants to the New European Bauhaus (NEB) Prizes 2026 now have until 29 March 2026 19:00 CET to submit their applications—extra time for innovators from Brazil and Japan to join this exciting opportunity. The EU is specifically looking for projects which: 

  • embody the values and working principles of the New European Bauhaus in an exemplary manner 
  • have high potential for transferability to other contexts 
  • have high potential to inspire and transform the entire built environment

For EU Cities: NEB Boost for Small Municipalities

The NEB Boost will reward 20 projects led by small municipalities across the EU, supporting initiatives that reflect NEB values, show strong community engagement, and demonstrate project maturity. Each winning project will receive up to €30,000 and a communication package to highlight their achievements.

This year, several exciting new features have been introduced

  • Expanded Horizons: Moldova now joins eligible participants, along with EU Member States, the Western Balkans, and Ukraine.
  • Spotlight on Water: A new €20,000 prize for projects tackling water resilience challenges.
  • Global Reach: Dedicated international track for Brazil and Japan: €20,000 for one winner per country, plus €5,000 for two runners-up.
  • Accelerator Programme for Champions and Rising Stars: Finalists receive coaching, strategic guidance, and communication support to ensure their projects thrive beyond financial recognition.
