Last week 6 cities and 3 regions of Latin America and Europe participated in Smart City Expo Curitiba 2022, the most important event in Brazil on digitization and innovation. Delegates shared best practices and lessons learned about digitalization, plus they strengthened their networks.

On March 23, 2022, public officials from 6 cities and 3 regions of Europe and Latin America shared their lessons learned and best practices on innovation and digitalization strategies to improve the provision of public services, foster greater public participation and modernize public administration. The international delegation included 14 representatives from the cities of Fortaleza, Sao Paulo, Manaus (Brazil), Puerto Montt (Chile), Piura (Peru), Mar del Plata (Argentina), and the regions of Silesian Vovoideship (Poland), La Libertad (Peru) and Parana (Brazil). The workshop was organized by IURC Latin America.

Furthermore, on March 24-25, 2022, public officials from these cities and regions participated in Smart City Expo Curitiba 2022, thus providing more opportunities for common learning, networking, and exchange of best practices on digitalization, smart strategies, and innovation.

They attended panels where Smart Cities professionals and municipal officials around the world presented solutions to topics such as:
