On April 6th, IURC Latin America organised the second part of its webinar series on Financing green infrastructure for sustainable cities. This session focused on the role of development banks and private financing in reducing the infrastructure gap in cities while promoting low-carbon investments. Luciane Gorgulho, Head of Department of Urban Development Culture & Tourism for BNDES, presented different instruments to promote sustainable financing. Fernando Machado, Capital & Debt Advisor partner for EY, talked about the role of the private sector in the transition towards sustainable investments through incentives rewarding positive environmental impacts. Presentations were followed by a panel discussion addressing some of the main challenges and opportunities of green finance.  People from 20 different cities and 11 countries joined the webinar.
