Suzhou has a well-established manufacturing system and an outstanding vertical industrial integration. The European Union is a major source of foreign investment in Suzhou and a major destination for Suzhou’s investment abroad. In 2017 at the China-Germany Forum, Suzhou’s county-level city Taicang was praised the highland for Sino-German innovation cooperation.
