Bangkok and Chennai Experts Meetings in Trier, Germany

As a follow-up of the IURC Global Event 2023 participation, a high-level delegation from the university HITS (Chennai, India) and the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration held technical meetings in Trier. The delegation included Mr. Pornphrom Vikitsreth, Chief Advisor for Climate Action the Governor of Bangkok, as well as Dr Ahosk and Enind Verghese from HITS. The activity was hosted by Prof. Peter König from the Trier University of Applied Sciences (TUAS) and the City of Trier. The technical meetings paved the way for future cooperation on climate action, especially on circular economy and adaptation to climate change. Synergies were established with the Global Covenant of Mayors for Climate and Energy (GCoM), of which Bangkok and Trier are members. The IURC project team supported the activity onsite.

09h00 – 11h00  Meeting with the City of Trier about Climate Action and Flood Management hosted by Deputy Mayor Ralf Britten (Inner City and Emergency Management).

11h00 – 12h00  Visit to SWT (Municipal Facility Company). Focus on sewage treatment, sustainable energy and sustainable construction.

12h00 – 14h00  Transfer to Site Visits and Lunch break

14h00 – 17h00  Visit to ART (Waste Management Plant)

Thursday 26/10

08h00 – 09h00  Transfer to Trier University Environmental Campus Birkenfeld (focus on circular economy and material flow management)

09h00 – 12h00  Site visit to the campus and experts meetings
