Three representatives of the Japanese energy company Nihon Koei from Koriyama along with city officials travelled to Europe to participate in the bootcamp on hydrogen energy offered by the economic promotion agency of Essen (an IURC pilot city).  The agenda included business meetings with several counterparts in Essen. It also included participation at the EU Hydrogen Week 2023 taking place in Brussels. The mission was coordinated by Go Theisen from Essen as well as by IURC team leader Pablo Gándara.

The mission was part of the one-week programme of Japanese experts to Europe, including business matching sessions with EU companies identified by the Essen Economic Promotion Agency EWG.
