Call for Cities and Regions in the US and Canada: Join the EU Cities Gateway North America!
Are you a city, region, or metropolitan area in the United States or Canada eager to tackle urban challenges and exchange solutions with peers from across the European Union? The EU Cities Gateway North America (EUCG-NA) is your opportunity to connect, learn, and innovate.
Funded by the European Union, this flagship programme builds on the success of the International Urban and Regional Cooperation (IURC) initiative. From September 2025 to September 2028, participating cities and regions will collaborate on key topics such as:
- Nature-based solutions
- Circular economy
- Digitalisation and urban innovation
- Affordable and attainable housing
Through peer-to-peer exchanges, thematic networks, study visits, and co-designed pilot projects, EUCG-NA empowers cities to transform local challenges into shared opportunities.
Who can apply?
Cities, metropolitan areas, regions, states, or provinces in the US and Canada with over 100,000 inhabitants. Northern and Arctic regions may apply without meeting this threshold.
Benefits include:
- Peer learning and networking with EU cities
- Access to international events and thematic clusters
- Co-development of action plans and pilot projects
- Increased visibility within a trusted EU framework
