Asia & Australasia: Webinar on Tactical Urbanism – Part 2

Categorized as News from Asia & Australasia, News from IURC, Urban and Regional Renewal

Over the past decade, the concept of tactical urbanism (also known as “urban prototyping”) has gained a strong pace in many cities around the globe. Pedestrian plazas, pop-up bike lanes, pop-up parks and innovative playgrounds are just some of the examples developed by city authorities and civil society to improve the liveability of their cities. Actions are piloted in the short term to test functionality and achieve people’s acceptance for long-term solutions.

In May 2023, the IURC Asia and Australasia (AA) team organised the second webinar dealing with Placemaking and Tactical Urbanism in Public Spaces, a follow-up to the event in February 2023. The event included presentations by urban development experts from Dublin, Málaga and Seoul.
