We are very pleased to invite you to join us for the ”Urban Agriculture” webinar. The event is organized by the International Urban and Regional Cooperation Latin America (IURC-LAC) Programme on Tuesday, September 13th at 09:00 CDT/16:00 CEST. The webinar will have a duration of 75 minutes and offer simultaneous interpretation in English, Spanish, and Portuguese.

The event will discuss the transformative potential of urban agriculture, as a catalyst of environmental transition and social inclusion. The agenda includes:

  1. Jay Van Amstel, Consultant and Specialist in Urban agriculture and ecosystem services, with emphasis on the case of São Paulo. Contribution of urban agriculture to environmental protection, land-use planning, and food security.
  2. Laura Galluzzo, Assistant Professor & Operational Manager (Design Department, Politecnico di Milano) Milan’s experience with urban gardens for social inclusion, community building, and the development of innovative practices in food systems, NBS, and green infrastructures.
  3. Claudio Bordi, Head of EU Projects (Risorse per Roma, Municipal agency of the city of Rome) & Giorgio Scavino, EU Project Advisor (Anci Lazio) Rome’s experience in urban agriculture as a mechanism for social integration and intergenerational dynamics promotion.
